It seems to me that raising the stock to the higher of the two available positions as shown would move the longitudinal centerline of the stock up relative to the centerline of the barrel and thus help control recoil. Is this so in your experience?
(PS: I haven’t done a free body analysis with the force vectors and was hoping you had the answer)

We have lots of shooters who bolt the stock on higher. It works great.
