Here are the ways the XCR is unquestionably superior to the SCAR:
- Lower Recoil – If you set us a SCAR and the XCR the same way with both having a muzzle brake, or both having a flash hider, you will see that the XCR has less recoil.
- Better Ergonomics – The XCR has better ergonomics than the SCAR. All manual controls are more intuitively placed so you can actuate them in a hurry while keeping your eyes on the sights and the target.
- Charging Handle – Non-reciprocating and away from the top rail so you’re not scraping your knuckles on optics or mounts each time you need to charge your weapon in a hurry.
- Bolt Catch – located in the front of the trigger guard within reach of your index finger. It makes holding the bolt open or shutting fast and easy.
- Pistol Grip – the XCR is designed to accept most AR-15 pistol grips so you can choose the one that fits you best.
- The XCR is more reliable – the XCR is more reliable than a SCAR because it uses an AK-based operating system that feeds better, cycles smoother, and extracts and ejects better.
- Won’t damage your optics – the XCR won’t damage your optics like the SCAR-H does.
- Takes a standard SR-25 Magazine – The SCAR-H uses proprietary mags which cost a lot more. The XCR-M uses the standard SR-25 pattern magazine made by many manufacturers.
- Warranty is not voided if using a suppressor – The SCAR’s warranty can be voided if you use a suppressor with it.
- All metal construction – The SCAR has a plastic stock and lower receiver. The XCR uses aircraft aluminum or steel for all structural components so it will last a lifetime.
- Lower receiver is serialized, not the upper – The SCAR’s upper receiver is the serialized part. This is a mistake because the upper is the part that is more likely to be damaged and you cannot change it out without going through a firearms dealer.
- Quick Barrel Length and Caliber Changes – To remove the barrel from a SCAR you must remove 6 screws. It takes a while. With the XCR you can change the barrel in 3 minutes or less. The XCR offers many more calibers and the cost of the conversion kits is much cheaper.
- The XCR is much cheaper – in the case of a SCAR-17, the XCR-M is at least $1000 cheaper.
- The XCR is much better looking – The XCR not only functions better, it looks better too.
