Ambidextrous Controls: Intuitively placed charging handle, bolt catch, mag release, and safety allow the operator to keep eyes on target while manipulating the rifle with either hand.
Non-Reciprocating Charging Handle with Forward Assist: Positioned away from the top rail to avoid interference with optics. Easy to access from either side and includes a forward assist.
Monolithic Upper: Delivers a strong, continuous top rail perfectly aligned with the bore for easy zeroing of optics and accessories.

5.56 Rifle, Pistol, or SBR: Your Choice
Robinson Armament offers the XCR-L in multiple configurations to match your needs for a 5.56 NATO firearm:
- The XCR-L Mini (Pistol/SBR): The Mini Upper is 15.25″ long and accepts only a 7.5″ barrels which are covered up to the muzzle threads. The Mini is the most compact 5.56 option. Ideal for CQB, vehicle use, or when maximum maneuverability is required. Can be converted to .300 BLK, 7.62×39, and .338 ARC.
- The XCR-L Standard (Pistol/Rifle/SBR): The Standard is our most flexible model. Its upper is 17″ long and cover a 9.5″ barrel up to the muzzle threads. It accepts 5.56 NATO barrels in 9.5″, 11″, 12″, 14.7″, 16″ and 18.6″ allowing it to allowing it to be used for everything from Close Quarter Combat (CQC) to precision long range shooting. It is available in all the calibers we offer.
- The XCR-L Mid (Rifle/SBR): The Mid upper is 19.75″ long. It was designed to cover a 12″ barrel up to the muzzle treads. Accepts 5.56 NATO barrels in 12″, 14.7″, 16″, and 18.5 lengths in most calibers. The model maximizes sight radius and handguard length for shorter or longer barrels.
- The XCR-L Comp (Rifle/SBR): The Competition upper receiver is 22.5″ long. It covers a 14.7″ barrel up to the muzzle threads. It also accepts 5.56 NATO Barrels in 16″, and 18.6″ lengths in most the calibers we offer.. This model maximizes right radius and handguard length. We named it the Competition because it’s often used by 3 Gun match competitors.
