  1. Hi there
I liked reading your reviews and admiring your handiwork. I haven’t picked up a rifle since leaving the military in 84 and am looking for that one rifle that will be my one and only. I’m looking a your XCR-M with a 20” heavy barrel. I wanted your feedback on the choice and ask what sort of range I should expect?
    Thank you

    1. In our opinion, the maximum range of any .308 with a 20″ barrel is about 800 yards. I think the military says its 1000. For over 800 or so, I prefer 6.5 Creedmoor. The neat thing about the XCR is you can quickly change the rifle from .308 to 6.5 Creedmoor or .243, or .260 in just minutes.
